Telangana will be among top producers of solar power - Chief Minister KCR
Telangana state will produce 3000 MWS of solar power in next two years:
Telangana First Chief Minister sri k. Chandrashekar rao has expressed happiness over achievement of 1758 mw of solar energy towards the set goal of 5,000 mws. Telangana Chief Minister reviewed with TS GENCO Mr. Prabakar Rao and Secretary Mr. S Narsinga Rao about solar energy availability in Telangana State. Telangana GENCO CMD explained to Chief minister that so far 2000 mws MOUS has been signed and remaining 3000 mws will be completed within two years.
On the day of Telangana state formation there was only one megawatt of solar energy available. After Telangana government formation a new solar power policy introduced in the state to boost solar energy in the state. Solar power plants are given permission based on load and substations linked to solar plants to avoid effect on the grid.
By implementing this new solar policy in the state almost 2000 mws MOUs has been signed and 1758 mws of solar power available at present. TS GENCO CMD said they are confident about signing of 3000 mws solar power in coming years by making Telangana state among the states generating highest solar power in the country.
The cm stated it's far essential to generate power from the non-conventional resources, along with the hydel, thermal. “a right plan should be in location for this,” Telangana Chief minister KCR said.
